Yesterday was Shrove Tuesday so it was only right that Anna got her first taste of pancakes! If she was anything like her Mummy... she would adore pancakes!! Yum Yum (which, incidentally, Anna can now say, especially when she is eating cheese!!)
Anna was very impressed with her Daddy's pancake tossing! Unfortunately no pancakes were harmed in the making of them (unlike most years where 3 or 4 always end up on the floor) so Anna didn't get the opportunity to giggle as the pancakes landed with a splat! It is even more impressive when you know that James was actually doing it with his right hand (although he is left-handed normally). I think James was concentrating extra hard this year so that he maintained his status as 'Daddy The Hero.'
I was, foolishly, so eager to see Anna trying her first ever piece of pancake that I gave her a little piece as I waited for her Chicken Casserole to cool down. This is the Chicken Casserole that I spent hours making for her! BIG MISTAKE. Once Anna had tried pancake, there was no way that she was going to eat boring old Chicken Casserole. As far as Anna was concerned, it was pancakes all the way! In fact, Anna decided to try a little bit of 'pancake tossing' herself. Unfortunately for me, it wasn't pancakes that she was tossing though... it was her bowl of Chicken casserole that she threw off the table, just so that she could get to the pancakes!
I think it is fair to say that Anna LOVED pancakes!! Yum Yum!

ha ha we had exactly the same thing with Betty - pancakes were the name of the game! She couldn't shovel them down fast enough. i have realised though that pancakes are actually a really good snack/meal - milk, eggs and flour cooked in butter - perfect - but savoury of course! - cream cheese, peanut butter, cheese, grated cucumber/carrot, tuna, houmous etc. Great!
By the way, thanks so much for the award - although i was delighted to receive it, have decided not to mention it on my blog - as people might think that i am handing out awards to myself!!
by the way, we are very very excited... Betty walked half way across the room yesterday, unaided! i think she wondered what all the cheering was about though! - so hopefully now there might be some hope of her walking up the aisle... maybe...
just re-read - sorry about all the 'by the ways' ...
Good point about the award!
I am glad that Betty liked her pancakes. Anna fell in love straight away!
Wow! Well done Betty. Anna is still taking 3 or 4 steps and then falling on her bottom every time! We will get there eventually!
Thanks for leaving a comment. It is always much appreciated.
