Wedding of the Year!

No, I am not talking about the Royal wedding, which Anna took no interest in whatsoever.

The Wedding of the Year was that of Anna's Uncle John and Auntie Charlotte on 3rd June 2011.

Auntie Charlotte has always been somewhat of a hero in our house. It probably has something to do with the fact that she is very kind, patient and thoughtful whilst being very beautiful and stylish. Basically, everything that Anna;s mother isn't!!!

Anna gets very over-excited when she knows that she is seeing her Auntie Charlotte so imagine her excitement at seeing Charlotte dressed as a princess and marrying Uncle John.

In the week leading up to the wedding, whilst having dinner one evening, Anna said

'Did you know Mummy that Auntie Charlotte and Uncle John are exactly like Cinderella and Prince Charming?'.
"How" I asked, fearing the answer would involve pumpkins and running away
"Auntie Charlotte and Uncle John have fallen in love and will live happily ever after, just like Cinderella".

The wedding actually was something from a fairytale with a church beside the sea and a hotel in the Lake District with a river running by and swans gracefully swimming along!

Anna had an amazing time (as we all did). She was dressed in a dress and accessories picked out by herself from Monsoon (which she believes is the princess show where princesses go shopping), saw a 'real-life princess' (her words), played with Niamh and Isla, got to show all her best moves on the dance floor for hours, whilst dancing to all her favourite current songs (Lady Gaga, Abba, Queen, Mika and 70's disco), become the centre of attention as a circle of guests formed around her and found a new dancing partner (Jemma who is Grandad Peter's daughter) who could match her style far better than her Mummy!

It really was a perfect day so 'Thank you' to John and Charlotte for inviting us to an amazing day. Huge congratulations to you both.
